Caring for Natural Hair Daily

In tonight's blogging I'm going to talk about basic essentials in taking care of natural black, biracial, and curly hair.

1) Be super careful when combing is essential.
2) Start combing from the ends and work your way to the roots.
3) Take a detangling brush or comb and run it through your hair after detangling to make sure all knots are gone.
4) Take each peace of your detangled hair and braid it in a plat until its ready to style.

Tip: -It is best to detangle when wet. After a hair wash and conditioning.

1)Natural detangling methods.
2)Mashed raw African shea butter.
3)Conditioner.

Retaining growth, moisture and length:

1)Keep your hair plated down into parts at night to help retain your hair length.
2)Protecting your hair from breakage requires having a satin scarf to wear to bed, satin sheets, and pillow cases.
3)Having the proper headwrap is essential as well. A bonnet, or a satin hair tie is best.
4)Protective Styles to protect you hair.

Hair Damagers:

Chemicals like hair dyes. It is ok to dye your hair sometimes but will require switching shampoo and conditioner or alternating the conditioners and doing deep conditioning treatments. All of these things will be required to prevent severe damage.

Relaxers, Perms, Texturizers, Keratin, Flat Irons, Heating Curlers, Straightening combs, Heated Straightener's Etc. All of these and more cause damage that will require damage repair if done constantly and repeatedly. Again it is ok to experiment but over time it will cause breakage and prevent the hair from growing properly.

Hair growth methods:

Wash your hair at least twice a week. Deep condition once a week.
Wear a satin scarf at night and use satin sheets and pillowcases. All natural Oils.

Tip: Hair grease clogs the pores

1)Detangle softly and braid down your hair or style it at night.
2)Make sure to oil your scalp at least twice a week.
3)Use only Natural Oils in a spray bottle to make it easier to apply to to the scalp.
4)Stay away from heat and chemicals as much as possible.
5)Braiding your hair is a classic hair growth method.
6)Prenatal Vitamins, Biotin for slow acting follicles.

Oils that Promote Hair Growth:

1)Tea Tree Oil
2)Jamaican Black Castor Oil
3)Coconut Oil
4)Olive Oil
5)Jojoba Oil

Understanding your hair type is crucial in knowing what products work best for your texture or curls or kinks. If you do not go by your hair texture and read the correct labels on containers before your purchase then the style you want will not come out right. Learn as much as you can about your hair texture.

Today I'm struggling with knowing how to care for natural hair in all aspects. Being raised African American but of biracial decent is so hard to pull through. Being told the only reason I have long, healthy hair only because I am mixed takes a toll. It is unreal how people are when it comes to natural hair care. All the studying I am doing on hair proves otherwise. Even African people saying thier hair cannot grow as fast or long or it is too nappy. There is no such thing as bad hair. Some of the most beautiful women with natural are full blooded African. The singer Angie Stone for example she is full blood of African descent and her hair is so beautiful and rich. It doesn't matter about being mixed. It's your hair follicle levels and how you take care of it to enhance you hair health and growth. Every day I am fighting for this change in our minds and souls. All natural hair grows and it doesn't matter if your mixed , or dark skinned. We are all one. Beautiful black w...
